LAMATS CELEBRATES 20 YEARS

This month, the Louisiana Municipal Advisory and Technical Services Bureau (LaMATS) marks its twentieth anniversary of service to Louisiana local governments.

Incorporated in 1998 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Louisiana Municipal Association (LMA), LaMATS provides numerous free and low-cost benefit programs to the LMA membership, including the collection of $22.5M in insurance premium taxes on behalf of more than 200 participating municipalities. Always an innovator, LaMATS continues to explore new ways to improve local government operations, last year launching a powerful resource for municipal procurement in LaMATS Purchasing Services.

In the coming year, a new commemorative logo will accompany LaMATS member communications in both online and print publications. A series of features, starting with an article on LaMATS’ founding in the January edition of the Louisiana Municipal Review, will illustrate the past, current and future work of the bureau and its positive impacts throughout the state.

For more information about LaMATS services and to stay informed on upcoming events, visit lamats.net or call (225) 344-5001.
