LaMATS Executive Director Cliff Palmer and Brownfield Consultant Dr. John Sutherlin attended Tuesday's Louisiana Brownfield Awards ceremony, hosted by LDEQ at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, to congratulate the winning communities on their success and hard work in securing substantial remediation and assessment funding.
The annual ceremony, which recognizes both completed projects and new grant awards, provided a full day's agenda of presentations, professional networking, and detailed training for municipal officials looking to learn how to leverage federal and state resources (through LDEQ’s Brownfield and Voluntary Remediation Program, as well as LaMATS free consulting opportunities) to bring blighted local properties back into productive use.
LaMATS tips its hat to successful grant award recipients and project completions in the cities of Ruston, Ville Platte, New Orleans, Leesville, Minden, Shreveport, and Lafayette, as well as Lafourche, Jefferson, and DeSoto Parishes, the Acadiana Planning Commission, and others.
