Former Abbeville Mayor Joins CPEX

The Center for Planning Excellence (CPEX) has announced that Roslyn White, who served four years as Mayor of Abbeville, has joined the organization as Director of Government Relations, where she'll lead CPEX's newly launched Mayoral Energy Leadership Cohort alongside LaMATS and Groundswell Community Power. The cohort is designed to help Louisiana's 20 municipally owned electric utilities - serving more than 318,000 Louisianans - navigate affordability, reliability, and resilience challenges.

White brings a mayor's-eye view to the role, shaped by her own four years at City Hall and deep ties to Louisiana's mayoral network; relationships she describes as closer to family than professional peers.

"My hope is that this cohort expands their bandwidth, so mayors have support working alongside them even as day-to-day demands pull their attention elsewhere," she said.

It's a philosophy rooted in her belief that the people closest to a community's challenges are also the ones best equipped to solve them, if they have the right support behind them.

White was recently honored with the President's Award, presented by LMA Immediate Past President, Mayor Ray Bourque (Broussard) at the LMA's 89th Annual Convention in Monroe.
