Registration is now open for free training on aerial drone operations and analytics, with courses designed to equip Louisiana's first responders (police, fire, EMT, disaster management, etc.) and strengthen emergency services across the state. The training is funded through the Federal Emergency Management Administration's (FEMA) "ASSUREd" program and delivered by staff within the ULM Precision Ag & UAS Research Center, located in Monroe.
The series of paired courses, including "Intro to UAS Flight Operations" and "Intro to UAS Data Analytics," will be offered in back-to-back sessions on July 29-30, and again on August 5-6. Registration is currently limited, so LaMATS encourages all interested municipal first responders to click the links above to enroll, free of charge, to both classes and indicate which dates are preferable.
For more information about this opportunity, download this guide or contact Director Darrion Flunder-Jenkins, ULM Precision Ag & UAS Research Center, at 318.342.1168 or email djenkins@ulm.edu.
