In its quarterly meeting held July 28 in Lake Charles, the LaMATS Board of Directors elected a slate of new officers for the coming term. Grosse Tete Mayor Michael Chauffe will be the organization's new President. Baker Mayor Darnell Waites will serve as Vice President; and Mayor Mike Kloesel of Kaplan will be the board's new Secretary/Treasurer.
Immediate Past President David C. Butler II was presented with a ceremonial gavel and plaque in appreciation of his consecutive two-term leadership as President.
"Mayor Butler has been a stalwart and selfless leader for LaMATS," said Executive Director Cliff Palmer. "We are forever grateful for his dedication in steering the many LaMATS accomplishments under his watch."
