LaMATS Celebrates 25 Years of Service
LaMATS, a wholly-owned LMA subsidiary dedicated to serving association members, was established in 1998 to collect and distribute insurance premium tax (IPT) revenues to Louisiana municipalities. Today, this blockbuster IPT program includes more than two-thirds of state municipalities and returns tens of millions annually to communities statewide. In the past quarter-century, LaMATS has expanded to provide numerous other valuable services, like Brownfields remediation, millage management, electronic bidding, cooperative purchasing and surplus sales assistance, franchise fee audits, and much more.
“We believe 2023 will be a launching pad for our next 25 years of growth,” said LaMATS Board President, Pineville Councilman Nathan Martin. “I am proud to help steer this fine organization as we expand our services and better support you, the local governments and leaders of our Great State.”
