LaMATS Elects New Board of Directors

At its quarterly meeting on August 3, while at the LMA Convention in Monroe, LaMATS board members elected new officers for the 2026 - 2027 term. Baker Mayor Darnell Waites will serve as President, with Kaplan Mayor Mike Kloesel joining him as Vice President, and Ball Mayor Gail Wilking as Secretary/Treasurer. Grosse Tete Mayor Michael Chauffe was recognized as Immediate Past President.

The full LaMATS Board is now composed of: Meshaun Arceneaux, LMMC, LCMC, Louisiana Municipal Clerks Association President; Woodworth Councilwoman Lisa Aymond; Broussard Mayor and LMA Immediate Past President Ray Bourque; Grand Isle Mayor David Camardelle; Grosse Tete Mayor Michael Chauffe; Kaplan Mayor Michael Kloesel; West Monroe Mayor and LMA First Vice President Staci Albritton Mitchell; Rayne Mayor Charles "Chuck" Robichaux; Baker Mayor and LMA President Darnell Waites; Ball Mayor Gail Wilking; and LMA Executive Director J. Richard Williams.

Also during the meeting, Mayor Chauffe and other board members presented an award to Crowley Councilman Step Martin in appreciation for his years of dedicated service to LaMATS.
