LaMATS Executive Director Cliff Palmer gave a presentation on the mission of LaMATS, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Louisiana Municipal Association, now serving municipalities for nearly three decades. Palmer introduced the LaMATS Board, comprised of experienced mayors, councilpersons and clerks, and gave an overview of LaMATS’ many services; namely, the LACPC, Brownfield Assessments, Purchasing and Bidding (procurement), Drone Imaging, Occupational License Collection, Half-Staff Notifications, and the Insurance Premium Tax Collection Service, which returns an average of $28 million in annual revenues to its 220 participating communities.

Palmer closed by encouraging municipalities to call on the many services of LaMATS, providing free and low-cost assistance to local governments statewide to improve their municipal operations and assist in challenges they face on a regular basis. As part of LMA’s Mid-Winter Conference, The Louisiana Municipal Advisory and Technical Services Bureau held their Board of Directors quarterly meeting, reporting the achievements of 2025 and outlining plans for the new year.
