LaMATS Supports Surplus Property Sales in 2026

The LaMATS Purchasing Services Municipal Surplus Property Program is designed to assist Louisiana municipalities in selling surplus items, which can include construction equipment, vehicles, and other miscellaneous property. This program allows municipalities to auction their surplus property online, providing a streamlined process for disposing unneeded items and ensuring they receive fair market value for items that are no longer needed.

The program operates at no direct cost to municipalities, making it an economical solution for managing surplus property. Currently, 81 participants sell property “on demand” through LaMATS’ online auction process. The program has returned over $2M to municipal sellers since 2021.
