The Drains in Rayne

The City of Rayne garnered the LMA’s 16th Annual “Best of Show Award” for its “Phase II Drainage Improvements (Culvert Angioplasty)” project that involved a new method of thoroughly clearing out drainage culverts along nearly 15 miles of open ditch streets. The tools and methods required to implement this project were conceived, designed, fabricated, and executed entirely by city employees.

In all, eleven Louisiana municipal governments – Maringouin, Covington, Ruston, Monroe, Jean Lafitte, St. Martinville, Gonzales, Shreveport, Clinton, Franklin and Gretna – took home the Louisiana Municipal Association's most prestigious award for outstanding municipal improvements and accomplishments.
